Tomorrow we will be getting a lot of coverage on the highly publicized November 4 rally. The rally is supposed to be attended by tens of thousands of protesters. The protesters will demand punishment for the Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama, who they believe had committed blasphemy for wrongly referring to a verse in the Quran. The problem with this rally is that many of its pledged attendees are members of hardline muslim organizations. There were also reports that violent groups would join the rally. There are concerns that the rally would somehow spin out of control and turn to chaos. But since early this week, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has taken up on the matter himself.
