Amending the Constitution: Opening A Pandora’s Box

The Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Zulkifli Hasan, who is also the chairman of PAN, has repeatedly given the assurance that the MPR will only reinstate the State Policy Guidelines (GBHN) should there be a fifth amendment to the 1945 Constitution. But learning from the previous amendments and considering the interest of many parties and politicians, we won’t be surprised to see the discussion on a possible fifth amendment going wilder than it already is.To subscribe please click here
