The Golkar Party, the second largest political party in the Aceh province, gave their support to the pair Tarmizi Karim and Zaini Djalil. With additional support from Golkar, the pair is now the second strongest pair in terms of size of political party backing. The Vice Governor of Aceh Muzakkir “Mualem” Manaf and his running mate T.A. Khalid are still the pair with the largest coalition behind them. Should the incumbent Governor Zaini Abdullah and his running mate Nasaruddin fail to pass the independent candidate verification process, Mualem-Khalid would be the one running in the race as the incumbent, and Tarmizi Karim-Zaini Djalil would be interesting to watch as the strongest contender challenging the incumbent.To subscribe please click here
