As expected by Arief Yahya, minister of tourism, foreign tourist arrivals in Indonesia reached 1 million in July 2016, a new record high for monthly visits. This would be on track to achieve the Government’s short-term target of 12 million visitors per annum. The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) reported on Thursday (September 1) that foreign tourists visiting Indonesia in July 2016 increased 17.68% to 1.03 million, from 877.6 thousand in July 2015.
