Six pairs of governor and vice governor candidates are keen to enter Aceh’s 2017 gubernatorial race. But only three out of said pairs have secured their ticket to run in the race, all with the endorsement of a coalition of political parties. The other three pairs are attempting to qualify as independent pairs, including the incumbent Governor Zaini Abdullah. They are now waiting for Aceh’s local election commission (KPUD) verification.
