The fate of the (Greater) Jakarta Light Rail Transit (LRT) project has been decided. Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama won the debate. The track gauge used for the Greater Jakarta LRT will be the standard gauge track (1,435 mm), instead of the narrow gauge track (1,067 mm). The Governor told the Press that construction will commence on June 22, to coincide with the birthday of Jakarta.
