The credit growth during the first half of 2016 is lower than expected by the banking industry. Some have estimated that credit would have a single digit growth this year as economic slowdown has hit all sectors. Non-Performing Loans (NPL) went up to 2.93% in April and it will take long time for a recovery. But the Central Bank (Bank Indonesia/BI) remains optimistic that credit would grow by 11-12% this year, with the expectation of an upside trend in the second half. To subscribe please click here
