On Wednesday June 8, Bank Indonesia (BI/the Central Bank) reported that consumers’ confidence level in May improved, compared to the previous month, along with improvement of consumers’ expectation over current economic development. Consumers also expect that the pressures on prices will ease in August 2016, mainly for processed foods, beverage, cigarette, and tobacco. For the next 6 months, consumers predict that savings and loans will grow.
