It’s been a very long night in Bali. The Extraordinary Congress (Munaslub) of the Golkar Party did not begin the process of voting for the Party’s new chairman until well past midnight. The calculation of the votes began around 5 a.m. Central Indonesia Time (WITA). After a few hours of calculating the votes, the Munaslub committee announced the result of the first round of votes, and Setya Novanto’s name came on top. In second was Ade Komaruddin (Akom). But before long, Akom conceded, and so Setya Novanto (Setnov) was named the new chairman of Golkar. To subscribe please click here
