On Monday (April 18), the central bank (Bank Indonesia/BI) reported that Indonesia’s external debt grew by 3.7% (yoy) to US$311.5 billion in February 2016, attributable to a rise in long-term external debt, while short-term external debt fell. Based on group of borrowers, the increase in external debt was caused by the public sector, while private sector external debt declined.
