Head of the Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Franky Sibarani told the press that around 200 Chinese furniture companies had expressed their interest to relocate their factories to Indonesia due to increasing operational costs in China. Moreover, rattan (an important material for furniture) is readily available in Indonesia. Sibarani said that the changing structure of the Chinese economy (shifting from investment and export-driven to consumption) was the reason why many Chinese manufacturing companies wanted to relocate their companies abroad.To subscribe please click here
