In April 2014, Go-Jek was still a small social enterprise, with only 450 motorcycle taxi (ojek) riders catering to customers exclusively in the South Jakarta and Central Jakarta area. Fast forward one year, Go-Jek transformed into a services company with 35,000 ojek riders in big cities throughout Indonesia, including the Greater Jakarta, Bandung, Bali, Surabaya and Makassar.
