The Indonesian press scene flourished after the fall of Soeharto’s New Order Regime. After decades of oppression, the press was finally able to freely maneuver Indonesia’s big issues. Companies began to enter the media industry and established television channels, radio stations, newspaper agencies, magazine publishers, and online media companies. One of them is the Jakarta Globe. The English-language newspaper grew in prominence in its early years for quality news publication, but as years went by, the Paper seemed to slowly lose its charm.
