President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has already blocked a plan to amend the Law No. 30/2002 on the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) once in June 2015. At that time, Jokowi ordered the Minister of Law & Human Rights Yasonna Hamonangan Laoly to not submit the Bill on the amendment of the KPK Law to the House of Representatives (DPR) for discussion. That decision was supposed to kill the Bill, but it didn’t. Forty-five lawmakers from six factions of political parties initiated another proposal to pass the bill on the amendment of the KPK Law.
