The current Commander of the military (TNI), General Moeldoko, will enter his mandatory retirement age on Jul. 8, 2015. This means the appointment of a new Commander of TNI is in order. Based on President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s early nomination of Commissioner General Budi Gunawan for Chief of National Police, the President could also decide to accelerate the succession of military commander.
