ANTAM to Acquire Freeport Shares: How Likely?

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has given PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTAM) the greenlight to acquire 10.6 percent of PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) by October 2015. PTFI had previously agreed to divest its shares to the Indonesian government in two stages—the first 10.6 percent by October 2015, and another 10 percent in 2016. The government currently owns 9,36 percent of PTFI, and so with the additional divested shares, Indonesia will eventually control 30 percent of PTFI.To subscribe please click here
