Since the promulgation of nickel ore export ban, nickel price has soared 36.17% from early 2014 to June 30, 2014 on the metal exchange of London (LME). Analysts believe as long as Indonesia maintains the export ban and no significant change in Russia and Ukraine dynamics, the rise of nickel price driven by supply contraction will be inevitable. Talking about supply, everybody shall watch closely development of nickel-pig-iron (NPI) smelters in Sulawesi Island.
