The benchmark July 2014 contracts of crude palm oil (CPO) opened further down by RM13 to RM2570 per ton on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives this morning. The commodity also ended lower ground yesterday on reports of higher production in both Indonesia and Malaysia, plus estimated higher soybean harvest. Shares of plantation companies, meanwhile, opened mostly lower in the region, led by Golden Agri Resources and First Resources in Singapore.
