Iwan Fals is a legendary Indonesian musician. He is known as one of the most critical musician in the country. His lyrics are often blunt criticisms for the government. In the past, Iwan fals even made himself considered a threat by Soehartos regime to the point that the New Order government banned some of his songs and concert. Despite the controversy, Iwan managed to maintain his millions of loyal fans. In 2002, Iwan was even named as one of the Great Asian Heroes by Time Magazine.
