The General Election Commission (KPU) failed to complete its official counting of legislative election votes on the deadline initially set for May 6, which then pushed them to extend the deadline to May 9, 2014. Some are pessimistic that the KPU will able to finish their counting and announce results of legislative election as scheduled because it has so far only able to validate 14 out of 33 provinces. Until Tuesday (May 6) night, the KPU has validated April 9 legislative election results in five more provinces: Jakarta, South Sulawesi, Banten, Aceh, and South Kalimantan.
