Attempt at Weakening PDI-P?

In response to media reports painting PDI-P as one of the bad guys behind the resignation plan of the Mayor of Surabaya Tri Rismaharini, key leaders of PDI-P have spoken up and asked the public to see the situation in a different light: there is a black campaign designed to weaken PDI-P ahead of April’s legislative and July’s presidential elections. PDI-P believe that there are those interested in pitting a PDI-P cadre against another PDI-P cadre to create an impression of a divided party. Who could be behind such a plan?
